Physico-Mechanical Characterization of Gypsum-Agricultural Waste Composites for Developing Eco-Friendly False Ceiling Tiles

This paper aims to facilitate in the reduction of issues related agricultural wastes such as disposal and burning by incorporating two widely produced Pakistan, i.e., Rice Husk Wheat Straw, gypsum false ceiling plates develop an eco-friendly construction product. There is increased focus research on development products make use sustainable. Composites containing residues with four different replacement levels 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, 10% weight are developed along a control mix 100% gypsum. The physical, mechanical, thermal properties composites investigated. Also, made using their flexural behavior compared that specimen results showed density shore C hardness reduced increasing amount waste while water absorption remained similar up dosage 7.5%. Except for wheat straw dosage, compressive strength decrease increase rice husk dosages but above acceptable values 1 MPa 2 MPa, respectively, per BS EN 14246. For same level, relatively inferior mechanical those husk. conductivity test better performance composite mixes reference mix. bending all satisfied minimum criteria 14246 level 5% both wastes.
